Six arrested in Front Royal drug bust
Front Royal police have charged six people after a drug bust at a home at 119 Manassas Ave.
Police identified the defendants as Michael Scott Wade, 37; Susan Yates, 45, the owner of the residence; and James Deveney, Shannon Martinez, Dawn Frankel and Thomas Leathers.
Wade was charged with possession of cocaine with intent to distribute and possession of hydromorphone with intent to distribute. Wade was also charged with providing false identity to law enforcement.
Police said they were obtaining probation violation warrants against Wade after discovering he fled from a probation sentence in Fredericksburg.
Yates was arrested on a probation violation charge.
Deveney, Martinez, Frankel and Leathers were all charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.
Chief Norman Shiflett said Yates’ residence came under suspicion after citizen complaints about heavy foot traffic and suspected drug transactions at the site.
Sgt. Crystal Cline said police arrested the suspects and executed search warrants at the residence on Friday.
“That address has been on our radar for quite some time,” Cline said. “We formulated an action plan and took action that evening.”
Authorities say additional charges could be filed after laboratory examinations are completed of suspected controlled substances seized at the residence.
