Berryville man arrested on arson charge
A man accused of setting his house on fire on Tuesday in Berryville has been arrested on a felony arson charge.
Nathaniel Perry Iacone, 26, of the 10300 block of Harry Byrd Highway, was arrested at 4:05 p.m. Tuesday on the grounds of the Clarke County Parks and Recreation Department on West Main Street by the Clarke County Sheriff’s Office with assistance from Berryville police, according to a news release from the Sheriff’s Office.
Police were alerted to the house fire by a 911 call at 11:18 a.m. Tuesday.
“The Clarke County Sheriff’s Office, with the assistance of the Virginia State Police, conducted an investigation and determined that the fire was intentionally set. During the investigation a suspect was established and a warrant charging Felony Arson was issued,” the release stated.
Iacone was arrested without incident and was transported to the Northwestern Regional Adult Detention Center in Winchester.
