Deborah Coughlin, owner of Icing Images in Winchester, was awarded the Sweet Lie Hall of Fame award at the National Capital Area Cake Show in Fairfax on March 23.

Norman Davis, co-founder of the award, said, “Normally the Hall of Fame Award is granted to a cake artist, but Debbie works with so many cake decorators to make classes and education available. Debbie has also done so much for the cake community at numerous events across the country and made every effort to promote cake artists who work with her products.”

Bobby Aiken, CEO of Lendmark Financial LLC, announces the opening of its 141st branch at 253 Market St., Winchester, in the Rutherford’s Crossing Shopping Center.

Shenandoah Valley Language Services, a business and individual language instruction service located in Winchester, has announced the successful graduation of the first group of students attending its Spanish language immersion course. The group of six adults attended 15 hours of classes over a five days. Founded in 2012 by Tammy Bjelland, the school offers private and group classes in languages such as Spanish, English, French, Italian, German and Japanese.
