Trex appoints new president and CEO

Trex Industry Inc. has announced that senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer James Cline will take over as president and chief executive officer of the company.

The Winchester-based manufacturer of wood-alternative decking and railing announced Cline’s appointment, along with several additional staff changes, in a news release.

Cline’s new role within the company will take effect Aug. 17, following the retirement of current president and CEO Ronald Kaplan.

In the news release, Cline stated, “I am honored by my appointment, excited about the opportunity to take Trex to the next level.”

On Feb. 24, Trex announced that it had recorded a 14 percent increase in sales from $342 million in 2013 to $392 million in 2014.

Kaplan will remain in his role as chairman of the Trex board of directors, while Cline is set to join the board.

In the release, Kaplan stated, “[Kline] will do an exceptional job extending our exceptional track record of building value for shareholders and employees.”

Trex also announced that Senior Executive Bryan Fairbanks will take over Cline’s role as CFO. Cline stated that he is looking forward to working with Fairbanks.
