Unattended package deemed harmless
An unattended package that led to employees at the Warren County Government Center being moved to another part of the building Thursday was declared harmless hours later by a Virginia State Police bomb technician.
Warren County Sheriff Daniel T. McEathron said in a news release that an employee at the government center at 210 N. Commerce St. found the package outside an entrance to the building at about 2 p.m.
The Sheriff’s Office secured the parking area near the package and moved employees to places in the building away from the package.
McEathron said the state police bomb technician x-rayed the package and found it contained skin lotion.
