Man charged with gun offenses in dispute
A Timberville man was charged Wednesday with two gun-related offenses after an incident reported June 19 in the 400 block of Senedo Road in Shenandoah County.
Authorities in Rockingham County arrested Joshua Ryan Litten. He has been charged with brandishing a gun, hit and run driving, vandalism and being a felon in possession of a gun.
Maj. Scott Proctor of the Shenandoah County Sheriff’s Office said Litten, 30, of Timberville, was arrested after sheriff’s deputies investigated a report of hit and run driving and a man brandishing a gun.
Proctor said Litten came onto someone’s property in a vehicle and hit “at least one parked vehicle.”
“He exited the vehicle and walked toward the residence waving a rifle,” Proctor said of Litten, adding that no shots were fired.
Litten, who had left the scene by the time deputies arrived, was arrested Wednesday by Rockingham County authorities after warrants were issued for his arrest.
Proctor said no information was available about why Litten came onto the victim’s property.
“It had something to do with recent issues between some individuals at the scene, which includes the accused,” Proctor said.
Litten has a court appearance scheduled for 11 a.m. on July 17 in Shenandoah County General District Court.
