Two arrested in drug bust
A police investigation into heroin distribution in Front Royal resulted in two arrests on Thursday.
Wendy Louise Cooley, 45, and Marvin Eugene Cooley, 47, were arrested in Front Royal on Thursday on charges of possession with intent to distribute heroin.
According to a news release from the Warren County Sheriff’s Office, 76 individually wrapped packages of heroin were found in the Cooleys’ room at the Cool Harbor Motel.
This arrest came about from an investigation into heroin distribution in the Warren County area by the Northwest Regional Drug Task Force and the Warren County Sheriff’s Office. The Front Royal Police Department assisted with the execution of the search warrant, as well as the apprehension and arrest.
Warren County Sheriff Daniel T. McEathron said the investigation moved rapidly. The task force was able to identify and arrest the pair in just a matter of days.
“To be able to hit it as quick as they did, they were able to get quite a bit of heroin off the street,” he said.
Police say that the amount of heroin found in the room has a street value of more than $2,200.
“It’s a pretty good amount for two people to have at any one time,” McEathron said. “It was a great thing that the task force was able to get these people off the street.”
However, when it comes to combating the drug problem, the fight never stops.
“Investigations are always ongoing,” he said. “One thing leads to a domino effect. Someone will take their place,” he said.
Wendy Cooley and Marvin Cooley are both being held in Rappahannock-Shenandoah-Warren County Regional Jail without bond.
