Warren County sheriff’s deputies arrested two Front Royal men Wednesday afternoon after linking them to three nearby vehicle break-ins at the Morgan Ford Low Water Bridge.

Sheriff Daniel T. McEathron identified the defendants as Devon Michael Berryman, 21, of 468 Hill St., and Cortez O’Quail Robinson, 20, of 247 Oak Heights Road. Robinson is being held without bond at the Rappahannock-Shenandoah-Warren Regional Jail. Berryman was released from the jail on $1,000 secured bond.

McEathron said in a news release that deputies arrived at the bridge at about 12:18 p.m. after taking a report of a vehicle being broken into and two men leaving the scene in a black Honda Civic.

McEathron said deputies found three vehicles broken into. He said the missing items included wallets and credit cards. McEathron said one of the vehicles had a side window broken and damage to a door.

“I guess the term people use on the street is ‘smash and grab,'” McEathron said of the incident.

McEathron said Sgt. Bob Mumaw and Deputy Brad Pugh searched the area north of the bridge for the black Honda and found it around 12:34 p.m., about a mile north of the bridge. Pugh stopped the car and arrested Robinson and Berryman.

Berryman was charged with conspiracy to commit vandalism, two counts of petit larceny and two counts of entering a vehicle to commit a crime.
