Armed suspect robs 7-11 near Stephens City

A man armed with a handgun robbed the 7-11 store at 1001 Aylor Road in the Stephens City area early Tuesday morning.

Frederick County Sheriff’s Office deputies were sent to the scene at 2:47 a.m. Tuesday after the store clerk on duty reported the armed robbery, according to a Sheriff’s Office news release.

“The clerk working at the store at the time of the robbery reported that the suspect … approached the counter, displayed a black semi-auto style handgun and demanded money from the register. The clerk complied with the suspect’s demand and turned money over to the suspect,” the news release states.

The suspect is a black male, about 5 feet 7 inches. He has a thin build and was wearing a multi-colored hat, orange short sleeved T-shirt, white shorts and yellow tennis shoes. He had a white cloth over his face, according to the release.

“We are not releasing the amount of money stolen at this time. The suspect fled on foot, southbound towards Fairfax Pike,” the release states. “Images from the stores security cameras were collected and will be analyzed in an attempt to identify the suspect. No one was hurt during the course of the incident.”
