Board shifts administrative positions

The Shenandoah County School Board announced after a special closed meeting on Wednesday that Amanda Roller will take the position of principal at Peter Muhlenberg Middle School in Woodstock.

According to a news release, the School Board had approved Roller’s transfer to W.W. Robinson Elementary School in Woodstock as assistant principal in June, but she applied to the open position at Peter Muhlenberg later in July. She had most recently served as assistant principal at Signal Knob Middle School in Strasburg.

Kristin Waldrop, the former Peter Muhlenberg Middle School principal, had accepted another position in Prince William County, according to Assistant Superintendent Evelyn Linaburg.

“We were filling this position as quickly as we could since the school year is approaching,” she said.

The School Board also approved Tammi Hopkins, formerly Robinson’s Preschool coordinator, to fill the W.W. Robinson assistant principal position not taken by Roller. Shanna McComb was appointed acting assistant principal at Central High School in Woodstock.
