Sheriff’s Office investigating stabbing

The Warren County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a stabbing at a party on Stony Bottom Road on Saturday.

Deputies and EMTs arrived at the scene after receiving a report of a stabbing at 11:30 p.m. Sheriff Daniel McEathron stated in a news release that the first responders found Drago Lee Lockhart, 21, of 736 W. 13th St., Front Royal, with a cut.

McEathron said deputies were told of another man involved in the incident who left the scene in a vehicle. They later stopped James Christopher Tewalt, 21, of 3419 Remount Road, Front Royal.

McEathron said Tewalt was also found with a cut at the time deputies stopped the vehicle. The vehicle matched a description given by witnesses at the scene of the stabbing.

Sgt. Phillip Henry of the Warren County Sheriff’s Office said Tewalt’s vehicle was stopped “in the area” of U.S. 340.

No one has been charged in the case.

Lockhart and Tewalt both received medical treatment for their injuries. Henry refused to say whether either man had been hospitalized.

“Other than that, it’s still under investigation. I’m not going to release any more information,” Henry said.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Henry at the Warren County Sheriff’s Office at 540-635-7100.
