The national food bank association, Feeding America, has named Ron Morris chief operations officer for the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank.
Morris, who joined the food bank team in 2010, was also recognized as operations leader of the year for the eastern region at last month’s national Operations and Food Sourcing Conference.
Morris has led the Food Bank team to achieve new records in food sourcing and distribution each year and earned outstanding scored audits in food safety. He has also assisted several other food banks in preparing for AIB certification, all while managing BRAFB’s renovation project.
Creature Comfort Inn
Tammy Orndorff has been certified as an evaluator in the new Canine Life and Social Skills (CLASS) program.
Developed by the Association of Pet Dog Trainers, the program promotes the use of positive reinforcement to strengthen the relationship between humans and their canine companions. Orndorff provides obedience training, problem solving, behavior modification and puppy head start at Creature Comfort Inn in Strasburg.
Performance Sport & Spine
Performance Sport & Spine in Front Royal has been chosen to be a part of the sports medicine team for Warren County High School’s football and volleyball programs for the 2015-16 school year.
Dr. Jeremy Busch, Dr. Tom Dickerson and Dr. Jasmine Robinson, along with athletic trainer Whitney Shifflet, will join team physician Dr. Tripp Bradd to work alongside Warren County High School’s athletic trainer Jeff Crawford.
Services will include athletic taping and conducting exercises that help prevent injuries, restore biomechanics, optimize movement and improve performance, as well as triaging injuries during the games and helping to determine when an athlete sits out of a game. The practice will also offer same-day visits and evaluations for student athletes, as well as access to a direct physicians line for 24-hour care and assistance.
