WOODSTOCK — Fried foods are in abundance at this year’s Shenandoah County Fair. Funnel cakes, corn dogs and even fried Oreos can be found among the rows of food vendors dotting the fairgrounds.

In every direction you turn, there is a vendor selling your favorite sugary or barbecued snack.

The Little Red Snack Shack is one vendor that offers tasty treats to hungry fairgoers.

This will be the second year at the county fair for the Little Red Snack Shack. Operators of the shack, Amanda and Richard “Richie” Minton, say they hope to see an improvement in this year’s sales.  So far, business is keeping steady with last year’s sales.   .

Some of the Little Red Snack Shack’s most popular items are the ribbon fries and the timeless funnel cakes. But this year they added two new treats to the menu – deep-fried dill pickles and corn dog baskets – in hopes of boosting sales.

As the night rolls in, the shack sees an increase in sales. The Mintons said they are busiest later in the evening.

Richie Minton said, “We have the sweet stuff they eat before they go home.”
