Jail authority finance director resigns

FRONT ROYAL – Kevin Glascock, the finance director of the Rappahannock-Shenandoah-Warren Regional Jail, has resigned four months after his hiring.

Douglas Stanley, chairman of the regional jail authority, disclosed the resignation Thursday after the authority went into closed session to discuss Glascock’s departure. No explanation was given for Glascock’s resignation.

“It is a personnel matter, and the board will have no further comment on the matter,” Stanley said.

Glascock, 44, who was hired May 19, submitted his resignation Friday, effective immediately.

Glascock’s salary was $65,312 at the time of his resignation. Mary Beth Price, a member of the jail authority and Shenandoah County administrator, said Glascock’s pay and other compensation from the jail authority stopped with his resignation.

The jail authority has begun advertising for a replacement, but no timetable has been set for hiring a successor. No interim finance director has been appointed.

Jail authority records show Glascock worked as an assistant controller with U.S. Fitness Holdings LLC in McLean prior to being hired by the jail authority.

Glascock was the second finance director hired since the RSW Regional Jail opened in July 2014.

The jail’s first superintendent, Robert Mulligan, also resigned without explanation just before it opened.
