WOODSTOCK — Magician Kevin Owens is performing illusions and his wife Michelle Owens is painting the faces of amazed kids at the Shenandoah County Fair this week.

Kevin Owens said, “I’m really, really excited to be here.”

This is the first year at the Shenandoah County fair for the couple, who have been performing for 32 years around the country, including shows for Disney and celebrity parties.

Kevin Owens is a full-time magician for the company Enchanting Illusions, which offers magic, music, balloon twisting and face painting.

He said he has had great crowds for his shows at the fair and is looking to keep up the momentum.

Tricks included in his acts include disappearing handkerchiefs, magic behind the ear and the use of his rabbit, Thumper, to bring his acts to life.

His balloon animals allow the kids to take a bit of the magic home. He takes requests, and some of the most popular animals are cats, dogs, lions, bears and dinosaurs.

Aaron Shenk, 5, was happy to receive a T-rex balloon animal before watching one of Kevin Owens’ magical acts.

Aaron said he was happy to be at the fair and was looking forward to visiting the cows and rabbits at the fair after leaving the magic show.
