FRONT ROYAL – Sassy is a 10-year-old female pit bull terrier mix and is great with everyone she comes in contact with, except cats.

“She is a sweetheart,” said Dorothy Butler, a kennel attendant for the Humane Society of Warren County.

Sassy runs around the room with a lot of spunk for her age, eager to play. She’s extremely affectionate and isn’t afraid to give strangers a kiss.

Sassy was surrendered to the shelter when her parents had to move and has been at the shelter since Sept. 1.

Sassy is great with people of all ages and is still very active for an older dog.  She has been around children from newborn to 10 years old and loves her human friends.  She’s never bitten anyone and has “never had a grudge at all toward other animals or people,” Butler said.

Sassy is already housebroken and crate trained, she walks on a leash but loves to run and play fetch.

“And she loves to take car rides,” Butler said.

Sassy does not like cats, so she needs a good home without them.

“She loves water,” Butler said. So keep plenty of water on hand for her to guzzle down.

She is spayed and up-to-date on vaccinations. Her adoption fee is $30.
