Boy charged with producing pornography
A 15-year-old boy from Toms Brook is facing a dozen child pornography related charges in Shenandoah County Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court.
Maj. Scott Proctor, of the Shenandoah County Sheriff’s Office, said Tuesday the boy is accused of having “inappropriate contact or behavior, which included taking photographs with a 5-year-old female.”
“I believe they were taken with a cell phone,” Proctor said of the photographs.
The boy has been charged with indecent exposure, 10 counts of producing child pornography and sexual abuse.
Proctor said all the offenses were committed Aug. 21 in the Edinburg area.
Proctor said a parent, “most likely” of the victim, reported the incident on Aug. 26 to a school resource officer employed by the Sheriff’s Office. Proctor said the incident happened off school property and did not involve any employees from Shenandoah County Public Schools.
Proctor said the defendant and the victim live at different addresses.
“They do not reside together,” Proctor said. “But they know each other.”
The case is scheduled for a hearing at 11 a.m. Thursday in Shenandoah County Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court.
Proctor said he had no information on whether the alleged pornography was distributed online or in any other manner.
