Dr. Jeffrey Wise, a spine surgeon at Blue Ridge Orthopaedic and Spine Center in Warrenton, was honored Oct. 16 with the Inaugural North American Spine Society Advocacy Award at the group’s annual conference in Chicago.
Wise oversaw the development and implementation of the society’s spine advocates program, which increased its political influence on Capitol Hill. The society’s goal, through awarded grants, is to gain a better understanding of underlying disorders and to improve quality spine care for patients.
Wise is also a team physician for Kettle Run High School and one of the physicians for the Virginia Gold Cup. He joined the practice in 1999.
Front Royal dentist Dr. Craig Zunka has returned from teaching at the annual National Dental Seminar in Homeopathy on Oct. 9-11 in Herndon. Shelli Potter also attended to complete the dental homeopathy course.
The seminar is a composite of dentists teaching techniques using classic homeopathy principles in modern high-tech dental offices with actual dental case experiences.
Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices PenFed Realty held a grand opening and ribbon cutting Oct. 22 to launch its new office at 500 W. Jubal Early Drive, Winchester.
Attending were members of the Top of Regional Chamber of Commerce led by its CEO, Christine Kriz; Berkshire Hathaway Home Services PenFed Realty President Mid-Atlantic Kevin Wiles; and Regional Senior Vice President of PenFed Realty Judy Rudat.
Heading the branch office is Patsy Williamson, a 26-year real estate veteran and the current chairperson of the Blue Ridge Association of Realtor Professional Standards and Arbitration Committee and a long-time pre-licensing instructor of real estate classes.
Laura Trittipoe, of Stephens City, has received certification as a Redken certified colorist, the highest level of hair color expertise. She also holds certifications as a Redken specialist and Redken master specialist and qualifications in the Brazilian blowout smoothing system and Cinderella Hair Brand hair extensions.
Trittipoe, with Images Hair Studio in Leesburg, has been voted Best Hairstylist in Loudoun County six times by the readers of Leesburg Today.
