Firefighters save part of residence

Fire damaged a residence at 1648 Star Tannery Road in Frederick County around 10:30 a.m. Monday.

The Frederick County Fire and Rescue Department said in a written statement that firefighters contained most of the fire within 10 minutes of their arrival and prevented a total loss of the residence. No one was home and no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Fire and rescue responders from Star Tannery, North Mountain, Middletown and Frederick County Battalion 10 worked to extinguish the fire with help from Shenandoah County and West Virginia fire departments.
