Shooting defendant charged with malicious wounding
A Front Royal man, jailed weeks ago after police linked him to a shooting that left the victim hospitalized, has been charged with malicious wounding.
The defendant, Phillip Danyell Wilson, 36, was also charged with using a firearm as a result of what police say was his role in the Nov. 1 incident on Warren Avenue.
The victim, Timothy Wayne Carter, 37, also of Front Royal, suffered a gunshot wound to the chest and was airlifted to Fairfax Inova Hospital, where he has remained since.
Wilson, who was charged Nov. 2 with possessing a gun after a felony conviction, is being held without bond in the Rappahannock-Shenandoah-Warren Regional Jail. He is scheduled to appear at 2 p.m. Dec. 2 in Warren County General District Court.
The case remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call Detective David Fogle at 636-2208 or email him at email@example.com.
