Valley Health accepting donations for food bank

Valley Health seeks community help to “stuff the coach” with non-perishable food and toiletries for the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank.

Carol Weare, public relations manager for Valley Health, said, “We’re just hoping to boost their supply for winter.”

The Valley Health Mobile Health Coach will be at the Wellness & Fitness Center on the Winchester Medical Center campus on Monday and Tuesday to collect donated non-perishable items to be given to the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank.

“This is the first time we’ve used the Health Coach to collect food,” she said.

Items most in demand include:

  • Cereal
  • Peanut butter
  • Canned meats
  • Canned soups and stews
  • Canned fruits and vegetables
  • Boxed macaroni and cheese
  • Spaghetti sauce
  • Pasta and rice
  • Paper products
  • Personal care item

The Mobile Health Coach will be on the medical campus from 8 a.m. to noon on Monday and from 3 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday.
