Frederick County plant to upgrade, add jobs

Kingspan Insulation LLC plans to create 15 new jobs when it invests $25 million to upgrade its plant in Frederick County.

Gov. Terry McAuliffee made the announcement Thursday about the company’s intentions to upgrade the manufacturing operation. Kingspan, a subsidiary of Ireland-based Kingspan Group PLC, acquired Pactiv LLC’s building products division, which included the manufacturing plant near Winchester. The company plans to invest in plant upgrades and new equipment, creating 15 jobs.

The Virginia Economic Development Partnership worked with Frederick County to secure the project for the state, according to information from the governor’s office. McAuliffe approved a $500,000 performance-based grant from the Virginia Investment Partnership program, an incentive available to existing Virginia companies.

More than 550 economic development deals have been closed in Virginia under McAuliffe’s administration, with more than $9.23 million in capital investment.
