FRONT ROYAL – Stella, a 7-year-old domestic short hair cat, has been waiting to find a new home at the Humane Society of Warren County for almost a year.

Marie Anderson, feline kennel attendant at the shelter, said that Stella is a sweetheart.

“She’s a little shy at first, but once she calms down she really shows her true personality,” she said.

Anderson added that people tend to overlook Stella while she is in her kennel, but once she is able to walk around a play room, she’s much more active and personable.

She added that Stella would do best in a quiet home. She doesn’t like a lot of activity happening around her, so a home with no kids, or a home with older kids, would be best for her.

“She really does like people, she’s a calm, quiet, definitely a lap cat,” Anderson said.

Stella doesn’t do well with other cats, but Anderson said she is probably OK with older, quieter dogs that won’t bother her.

Stella plays a little, “but for the most part she just wants to relax,” Anderson said.

“She’s ready to go,” she said, “She just needs to find the right person.”

Stella is spayed and up-to-date on all vaccinations. Her adoption fee is  $14.
