LFCC to hold teacher recruitment fair Saturday

Lord Fairfax Community College will host the fourth annual regional teacher recruitment fair on Saturday.

Guy Curtis III, coordinator of marketing, business and industry training, said the college’s education consortium and the local school divisions are partnering up “to attract and recruit talent to Shenandoah Valley.”

School divisions participating will include those from the cities of Winchester and Harrisonburg, and from Frederick, Warren, Shenandoah, Clarke and Page counties. Representatives of the human resources departments from each division will be present to answer any questions.

“Once signed in, participants have the opportunity to speak with schools in an open vendor setup,” Curtis said.

In past years, turnout has been around 150 participants.

“This year we anticipate a great number,” he added.

Preregistration is not required, but a short registration sheet will need to be completed upon arrival in order to gain entrance to the recruitment fair.

Candidates are also encouraged to visit the individual school system websites and apply online to divisions of interest for future employment opportunities, he said.

The recruitment fair will be held at LFCC’s Corron Community Development Center in Middletown from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday.
