Two charged in juvenile sex case appear in court
Two people involved in a juvenile sex case appeared in Shenandoah County Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court on Thursday morning.
Suzanna McCoy, 18, of Toms Brook, and Brandon Shields, 31, of Strasburg, went before Judge Kevin Black separately on charges from the Shenandoah County Sheriff’s Office.
McCoy has been charged with two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor for engaging in consensual, sexual intercourse with a child 15 years of age or older, a class 1 misdemeanor.
Shields, a Central High School teacher and boys basketball coach, has been charged with an undesignated misdemeanor of failure to report child abuse or neglect.
Both were scheduled for their next court appearance on Aug. 4. Neither party gave comment after they left the courtroom.
