Man indicted on sexual battery charges
A Frederick County grand jury indicted a Winchester man last week on a charge of aggravated sexual battery.
Kevin Lee Legg, 38, of Winchester, was arrested on April 15 and charged in an incident that occurred that day, according to Capt. Donnie Lang of the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office. Legg was indicted on June 7.
Lang said that the victim was 13 years old at the time of the incident. Lang said Legg entered the girl’s room and touched her inappropriately. After the victim reported what happened to her mother, Lang said the mother contacted police.
Lang said that although Legg has a history of involvement with the department, this is his first felony charge.
Legg is scheduled to appear in Frederick County Circuit Court for a pre-trial motion on Aug. 4. He’s also scheduled to appear in Frederick County General District Court on Aug. 2 on a charge of possession of marijuana that bears the same arrest date as the aggravated sexual battery charge.
