Suspected heroin dealer set for October trial
WINCHESTER – A Philadelphia man charged with distribution of heroin will stand trial in Frederick County Circuit Court in October.
Kareem Strong, 25, was scheduled on Tuesday for a jury trial on Oct. 27, tying back to a June 2015 arrest.
Defense attorney Christopher Collins moved that Strong be given an evaluation to determine if he’s competent enough to stand trial. He mentioned a recent episode that required Strong to be hospitalized. The court also recognized a witness in Strong’s case who was present.
Strong was remanded into custody at Rappahannock-Shenandoah-Warren Regional Jail.
Strong was convicted of possession of heroin with intent to distribute in Warren County Circuit Court in January 2014. He’s scheduled for a jury trial there on Oct. 4 for a charge of possessing cocaine with intent to distribute, second or subsequent offense.
