Town worker sustains minor chainsaw injury

A Strasburg construction worker suffered a minor injury via chainsaw Thursday while trimming trees on King Street.

In an email, Amy Keller, human resources and office manager for the Town of Strasburg, confirmed the incident.

“On Thursday, July 28 at approximately 10:15 a.m., a Strasburg town employee was injured while trimming trees along King Street,” she stated. “The employee was transported to the Winchester Medical Center where he was treated and released and is expected to make a full recovery.”

Keller declined to give the employee’s name, citing privacy restrictions.

Ryan Spitzer, town manager, said he knew of the incident but said it was on the minor side. He said the employee was treated with five stitches and will take five days off from work.

The construction is part of Strasburg’s Downtown Streetscape Project, which is an initiative designed to beautify the town’s downtown area sidewalks and street views.
