Teenager on minibike dies in collision
A teenaged boy was killed Friday when the electric minibike he was operating collided with a large pick-up truck on a section of private driveway south of Hoover Road in Woodstock.
Tyler Allen Miller, 13, of Woodstock, was killed around 10 a.m. when the minibike he was driving collided with a 2015 Ford F-450 dually pickup truck, according to state police Sgt. F.L. “Les” Tyler.
“A 2015 ford F-450 dually pickup was coming down a driveway into a residential parking area and as it came into the parking area, an electric motorbike came from the left side of the pickup truck in front of it,” Tyler said. “There was some vegetation that was blocking the minibike and the operator of the pickup’s view.”
Miller, whose address was not available, died at the scene from his injuries, said Tyler.
Tyler said that Trooper M.W. Painter investigated the incident with assistance from Woodstock Police Department, Shenandoah County Sheriff’s Office and fire and rescue units from Shenandoah County.
The investigation resulted in no charges being filed against the pickup’s operator. Tyler said neither speed nor alcohol were factors. The pickup driver’s identity was not released.
