Front Royal man faces charges
Authorities charged a Front Royal man Wednesday with two separate counts of failure to perform construction.
According to Lt. Bo Hall with the Shenandoah County Sheriff’s office, Keith Ellis Dodson, 37, was arrested following reports from residents on the 100 block of Cliffside Drive in Edinburg and the 100 block of Abraham Court in Woodstock claiming that Dodson accepted checks to repair the victims’ driveways, and then did not return to perform the construction.
Hall said Dodson took a $450 check from the Edinburg resident and $1,450 from the Woodstock resident.
“He offered to repair cracks in the victims’ driveways,” Hall said. “They paid him in a check, he said he’ll return to complete the job and he never did.”
Wednesday’s arrest was not Dodson’s first run-in with law enforcement. Dodson was charged with unlicensed solicitation and failure to perform construction in 2015. The charges are still under adjudication in Shenandoah County General District Court.
Likewise, according to the Warren County Circuit Court online database, Dodson was found guilty of possession of cocaine and marijuana in 2000, as well as resisting arrest in 1998.
Dodson has been released since Wednesday’s arrest on a $2,500 secured bond. He was scheduled to appear in court at 9 a.m. Friday in Shenandoah General District Court. At press time, information about the hearing was not yet available.
