Teaching positions still open in Shenandoah
The Shenandoah County Public Schools division is still looking to fill teaching positions before the start of the school year.
Linda Hodges, supervisor of human resources for Shenandoah County Public Schools, said there are six teaching positions open at this time.
The open positions include positions for two secondary English teachers, a secondary math teacher, a secondary information technology teacher, an elementary special education teacher, and a middle school Spanish teacher.
She added this number of vacancies is “fairly typical for this time of year and we are continuing to work to fill these as soon as possible.”
“If we are unable to fill by the start of the year, we would place a long-term substitute teacher in the position initially as we continue to work on recruitment,” she added.
The first day of school for students is Sept. 6.
