Man accused of pointing BB gun at school bus

Shenandoah County sheriff’s deputies Wednesday charged a Quicksburg man with brandishing a weapon illegally after investigating a report of someone pointing what appeared to be a rifle at a school bus.

A posting on the Sheriff’s Office Facebook page identified the defendant as Adam Roberts.

The posting states that the rifle turned out to be a BB gun.

Deputies began their investigation when a school official notified the Sheriff’s Office that someone had reported a man pointing a gun in the direction of a school bus traveling on Pinewoods Road.

The Sheriff’s Office says witnesses reported that Roberts pointed the gun at least three times at the rear of the school bus. The bus was picking up children on their way to school in the morning.

The Sheriff’s Office says Roberts has been released on bond.
