Woodstock to hold public hearings today

The Woodstock Town Council will hold two public hearings prior to the regularly scheduled council meeting today.

Woodstock Town Manger Angela Clem said at 7:15 p.m. a joint public hearing will be held to receive public comment on the request of David Williams to operate professional offices by special use permit. The property is located at 106 N. Muhlenberg St. Williams will be at the hearing to outline his request.

Clem added that another public hearing will be held at 7:30 p.m. to receive public comment to “consider the adoption of a proposed ordinance and resolution authorizing the issuance by Woodstock of a taxable general obligation bond. The bond provides full faith that the town will meet its obligations related to the construction of the downtown parking lot.”

She added that the parking lot is being funded by the USDA Rural Development at a fixed low rate that will not exceed 2.75 percent.

At the meeting, she said the personnel committee will recommend to Town Council to appoint or reappoint individuals to the planning commission, park commission and economic development authority.
