Man charged with rape
FRONT ROYAL – A Front Royal man has been charged with rape in connection with an incident at his home on Nov. 12.
The defendant, Jeremy Antonio Ford, 34, of 1408 Weaver Lane, was ordered at a bail hearing to avoid all contact with the victim, except for third parties, after a judge set his bail at $10,000 secured bond. He was subsequently released from the Rappahannock-Shenandoah-Warren Regional Jail.
The Warren County Sheriff’s Office charged Ford with rape after investigating a complaint that he had forced the alleged victim, an adult woman, to have sexual intercourse with him.
“The victim called it in,” Lt. Gordon Foster of the Sheriff’s Office said of the complaint that led to the investigation.
A criminal complaint filed in Warren County Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court says Ford and the woman initially had consensual sexual intercourse twice. The victim then refused when Ford attempted to have sex with her again, but he forced her do so against her will, the criminal complaint says.
“He was taken into custody without incident,” Foster said of Ford.
The criminal complaint says the victim asked for an emergency protective order against Ford.
Ford’s next court appearance is scheduled for 9:45 a.m. in Warren County Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court.
Foster said the Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate the case.
