Stabbing suspect identified

Joshua Allen Cook

Front Royal police have identified a suspect in the stabbing of an 18-year-old man on Nov. 13.

Police say the suspect, Joshua Allen Cook, 26, of 204 Virginia Ave., Front Royal, is wanted on a charge of malicious wounding.

The victim, Bradley Rich, was stabbed in the chest and suffered a cut to the face during an altercation with the suspect, police say.

The suspect fled the scene of the stabbing before the arrival of investigating police officers.

Police described Rich’s injuries as non-life threatening. He was taken to Winchester Medical Center.

Sgt. Crystal Cline of the Front Royal police said the two men did not know each other “as far as we know” prior to the incident at Short and Cloud streets. The reason for the altercation and motive for the stabbing are unknown.

“I think they were throwing words out at each other,” Cline said.
