Work underway on Cedar Creek bridges

Construction crews dismantle the northbound U.S. 11 bridge over Cedar Creek at the Shenandoah and Warren County lines north of Srasburg on Friday. Perry Engineering of Winchester was awarded a $6.9 million contract to build a new crossing over the creek to replace the northbound and southbound bridges with a two-lane crossing. The southbound bridge was built in 1947 and the northbound crossing constructed in 1959. The project is scheduled to be completed in November 2018. Rich Cooley/Daily
