Monday, May 12, 2008 Storms blamed as 800 lose electricityFRONT ROYAL More than 800 Allegheny Power customers lost power Sunday in Warren and Clarke counties as storms blew through the area. Front Royal residents were hit hardest, with nearly 800 customers without power, according to Allegheny Power's Web site. Clarke County had six customers without power. Allegheny spokesman Mark Nitowski said the storms appeared to be the main culprit in the outages. "From early indications, it might be some wires that are down, and that could come from fallen trees or branches," he said. Nitowski said a storm system moving from west to east has been causing trouble throughout Allegheny's service territory. He expected power to be restored by early today. Daily Staff Report |
