Friday, May 16, 2008 SU gives program's first scholarshipWINCHESTER Shenandoah University recently awarded its first scholarship through the William G. McGowan Charitable Fund's Scholars Program. Jane Derrick, a full-time weekend and evening business student at the university's Northern Virginia Campus in Leesburg, received the $18,000 scholarship, according to a press release. Derrick, of Reston, will complete her bachelor's degree in business administration in August and enter the master's in business administration program. The scholarship will pay for the first two semesters of the program. Derrick will attend classes while working as a senior executive assistant at Dulles-based JPMorgan Chase Vastera Inc. McGowan Scholars are chosen based on academic performance, talent, leadership qualities, character and community involvement. Daily Staff Report |
