Wills recognized for work in tourism

WINCHESTER — The Winchester-Frederick County Tourism Board has honored Natalie Wills, executive director of the local Convention & Visitors Bureau, with its Tourism Person of the Year award.

The board's chairwoman, Kim Dodd, presented Wills with the award during the grand opening of the Winchester-Frederick County Visitor Center and Civil War Orientation Center on Monday. Dodd praised Wills' accomplishments with the center and her enthusiasm for tourism.

Wills started at the CVB in 2002 as a travel counselor. She became executive director in 2006, taking over the position when Melanie Stepp-Coughlin resigned.

Wills received her Certified Travel Industry Specialist designation in February 2008, according to a city press release. The designation is through Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis, in partnership with the American Bus Association.
