Special Sections Monday, May 5, 2008 Edinburg teenager killed in ATV crashWINCHESTER An Edinburg teenager died after the all-terrain vehicle he was driving crashed in Frederick County on Saturday. Colton Lindamood, 15, died from injuries he received in the crash that occurred at 2:08 p.m. on Mockingbird Lane, one-half mile north of Easter Ridge Lane. Lindamood was driving a 1987 Yamaha ATV when he entered a private drive that was posted as private property, said Virginia State Police Sgt. F.L. Tyler. "The driver struck a security fence," Tyler said. "It appears he died at the scene of injuries he sustained in the accident." Tyler said the crash is being investigated by Trooper Poling of the Virginia State Police. Lindamood was a ninth-grader at Central High School in Woodstock, said Ennedi Shtanko, 15, a sophomore at the school and friend of Lindamood. Shtanko said there was a large banner at Central High School honoring Lindamood. "He was definitely a country boy," Shtanko said. Daily Staff Report |
