Warren County crash sends two to hospital

Two people were taken to hospitals after a head-on crash on Route 522 in Warren County on Thursday afternoon, according to Sgt., F.L. “Les” Tyler, public information officer for the Virginia State Police.

“The crash happened at 3:45 p.m. yesterday (Thursday) on Route 522 one mile north of Route 665,” Tyler said. “(There were) two vehicles involved. The first vehicle was a 2015 Dodge four-door. It was traveling southbound on 522, being operated by Andre Frye, aged 38, from Culpepper, Virginia. He was southbound on 522 when he crossed the centerline and struck a 2010 Freightliner truck that was being operated by a Brandon Yarbrough, age 29.”

It is unknown where Yarbrough is from, Tyler said.

Yarbrough was taken to Warren Memorial Hospital and Frye was flown by helicopter to Winchester Medical Center.

The crash was investigated by Trooper K.J. Orr with assistance from the Warren County Sheriff’s Department and Warren County Fire and Rescue.

“Based on his investigation, Mr. Frye was charged with reckless driving,” Tyler said.
