Local lane closures expected next week
The Virginia Department of Transportation announced Thursday a series of lane closures in the valley next week.
From Sunday through Jan. 20, there will be a series of single lane closures in Frederick, Shenandoah and Warren counties for bridge and stop light pole inspections.
In Frederick County, there will be single lane closures for bridge inspection over Cedar Creek from mile markers 299 to 300 on north and southbound Interstate 81 from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. on Jan. 20. At mile markers 318 to 319, there will also be single lane closures over the Winchester and Western Railroad for bridge inspections northbound on I-81 from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. on Jan. 22.
In Shenandoah County, there will be single lane closures at the intersections of Bowman Avenue near the Shenandoah Hospital entrance, at the southbound I-81 ramp and at Hisey Avenue in Woodstock for stoplight pole inspections from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. on Sunday. In Strasburg, the intersection at Radio Station Drive will have lane closures for stoplight pole inspections from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
In Warren County, there will be single lane closures at the Toray Drive and Shadows Drive, as well as Route 627, 665 and Duck Street from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. on Jan. 19 for stop light pole inspection. There will be single lane closures at the Route 647 intersection and the I-66 westbound ramps for stop light pole inspection from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. on Jan. 20.
