WINCHESTER The Frederick County Board of Supervisors have filed their statements of economic interests as required by state law.
* Chairman Richard C. Shickle Sr. reports a salary of more than $10,000 from Shenandoah University as vice president of administration and finance and as treasurer with the college; his wife, Louise Shickle, earns more than $10,000 as president of Data Base Services Inc.
The chairman also reports serving as a paid president of Twin Properties Inc., Crossroads of History LLC and RICS Inc., and as director with Loudoun Mutual Insurance Inc. in Waterford.
Shickle reported that he or other immediate family members have more than $50,000 in debt with banks and between $10,001 and $50,000 with other loan or finance companies.
Shickle or an immediate family member holds between $50,001 and $250,000 in stock invested in Twin Properties through his restaurant ownership as well as in TIAA and CREF mutual funds, according to the filing. He or a family member holds $10,001-$50,000 in stock with Crossroads of History, Wachovia Corp. and BB&T, and in mutual funds through investment broker William Blair Funds.
Shickle or a family member holds $50,001-$250,000 in interest in Twin Properties, and between $10,001 and $50,000 in a farm, magazine publisher Crossroads of History, and Data Base Services, a bookkeeping entity. He or a family member holds interest valued at $10,000 or more in recreational or open space in Hampshire County, W.Va., with one property listed under Dillon Run Conservation Club, and a farm in Frederick County.
He reported no gifts.
* Vice Chairman Gene Fisher, representing the Shawnee District, earns more than $10,000 from Shenandoah University and lists his wife, Mary Fisher, as a member of his immediate family who makes more than $10,000 working for Warren County Public Schools.
Fisher or an immediate family member have more than $50,000 in debt owed to banks. The supervisor reports that he or an immediate family member holds securities valued at more than $250,000 in TIAA and CREF stocks and mutual funds as well as in a Sun America IRA account.
The supervisor reports he or an immediate family member own two properties described as open land in Frederick County, with one under his wife's name, and two similar properties in Hampshire County, with one listed under Dillon Run Conservation Club.
* Red Bud Supervisor Philip A. Lemieux lists his wife, Kristen, his son, Alex, and daughter, Sarah, as immediate family members. Lemiuex reports that he or a family member earns more than $10,000 a year working for Alexander Homes LLC as president of the Frederick County-based construction company. He reported earning from $10,001 to $50,000 in that position.
Lemieux reports more than $50,000 in debt to David Dill Concrete and Excavating.
He or a family member reports holding interest in three building lots in Frederick County and seven in Berryville, as well as a home at 200 Tyson Drive and at 409 Madden St., both in Berryville. All properties are listed under Alexander Homes.
* Back Creek Supervisor Gary A. Lofton lists his wife, Priscilla, as a member of his immediate family. Lofton reports that he or a family member earns no salary more than $10,000.
Lofton or a family member serves as owner of the consultant firm Buffalo Marsh Road LLC in Middletown.
He or a family member holds mutual funds valued at more than $250,000 through the investment firm Edward Jones. He or a family member reports interests from $10,001 to $50,000 in Buffalo Marsh Road.
* Opequon Supervisor William "Billy" Ewing lists Jeannette Ewing as an immediate family member. Neither he nor a family member report earning more than $10,000 a year.
Ewing reports that he or a family member serves as owner of Bill's Barn, and Ewing Enterprises, both in Stephens City, and holds an interest valued between $10,001 and $50,000 in the entities.
The supervisor states he or a family member holds more than $50,000 in debt owed to banks.
Ewing or a family member holds mutual funds through Wachovia Bank and an annuity with Vantage Point, both valued between $10,001 and $50,000.
Ewing or a family member holds interest valued at $10,000 or more in recreational land in Shenandoah County and an apartment building in Frederick County.
* Gainesboro Supervisor Gary Dove lists his wife, Karen, and children, Adam, Brian and Elizabeth, as immediate family members. He reports earning no salary of more than $10,000.
Dove or a family member owns stock valued from $50,001 to $250,000 in Winchester Equipment.
Dove or a family member reports holding $10,001 to $50,000 in interest in rental property at 110 Parkside Drive, as well as in Valley Development Group Inc. in Hardy County, W.Va., Crystal Hill LLC in Shenandoah County and GGG LLC in Hampshire County, W.Va. The supervisor reports interest valued from $50,001 to $250,000 in Crystal Investors LLC of Frederick County and D&G Developers in Berkeley County, W.Va.
Dove lists having interest valued at more than $10,000 in recreational/hunting land and another property labeled for business use in Hampshire County; business properties in Hardy and Berkeley counties, open land in Frederick County and business property in Shenandoah County.
* Shawnee Supervisor Charles S. "Chuck" DeHaven Jr. lists Patricia DeHaven as an immediate family member. DeHaven reports that he or a family member earned more than $10,000 working for DeHaven Nursery Inc. He or a family member serves as vice president and treasurer of the Frederick County-based nursery. DeHaven reports that he or a family member holds stock worth between $50,001 and $250,000 in the business, and holding interest in the company within the same range.
The supervisor reports having debts to banks valued at more than $50,000, while an immediate family member has debts between $10,001 and $50,000.
DeHaven reports that he or a person with whom he has a close financial relationship received $1,001-$10,000 from counties, cities or towns while serving the board of supervisors.
The supervisor reports that he or a family member holds interest worth more than $10,000 in open/forest land in Frederick County.
