Allie is a happy Jack Russell mix
Allie, a 13-year-old Jack Russell mix, is a spayed female whose owners were forced to surrender her to the Warren County Humane Society during a move.
Allie developed a uterine infection when she was brought in, requiring an emergency spaying. The infection affected her liver and kidneys, as well. According to shelter staff, her kidneys are looking much better, but some liver trouble persists.
Despite her unlucky medical history, Allie is still a happy, friendly little dog.
She is a great dog for a cat household — her foster parent has cats and Allie does fine with them. She does OK with dogs, but it needs to be the right dog, as she can be jealous. The shelter recommends a dog meet-and-greet for any potential adopters who have a dog.
Allie is probably best for a house without children, as her past medical problems have left some places on her body tender, which can make her nippy if petted in the wrong area.
Allie can be adopted at the shelter, located at 1245 Progress Road, Front Royal. Information; 540-635-4734.
