Justin Shane Slater

Justin Shane Slater, 24, of Shawneeland, has been charged with first-degree murder and use of a firearm in the commission of the felony in connection with the June 11, 2009 shooting death of his brother, Gregory Scott Slater Jr., 28, of Frederick County.

On July 20, a grand jury meeting in Clarke County Circuit Court returned an indictment Slater with capital murder in the June 10 death of his ex-girlfriend, Kayleigh Marie Plamondon, 22, of White Post. Slater was apprehended near Wardensville, W.Va., on June 13, 2009, and is being held without bail at Northwestern Regional Adult Detention Center.
