Massage Envy will open next month in Winchester

Massage Envy, a full-service massage chain, is moving into Winchester with a January opening planned, said franchisee Chris Ganoe. The address will be 2638 Pleasant Valley Road.

“(We offer) Swedish, deep tissue, prenatal, sports massage, hot stone massage, lymphatic massage, and we customize all our sessions to make sure we address what the client needs focus on.,” Ganoe said. “With treatment on skin care, the esthetician will customize the session to make sure that the certain high grade products are chosen that will best benefit their skin and address any issues it may need.”

Ganoe said he plans on hiring 30 massage therapists, six estheticians and 10 front desk associates. Massage Envy locations across the country average 55 or so, he said.

Massage Envy offers membership-based massage therapy.

“Initially you come in as a guest,” he said. “If it’s something you think you want to do on a monthly basis then we offer the membership package. You pay $70 a month. That puts a session into your account. If you want additional sessions, they’re $50. If you haven’t used the session, it rolls over. You can even gift one to a friend or family member. You can use your membership nationwide so no matter where you go in the nation, you can use your membership.”

Massage Envy will be open seven days a week until 10 p.m. Ganoe said that is part of what sets the chain apart.

He explained the reasoning behind his decision to open up a Massage Envy in Winchester.

“I grew up in the area and then I moved to Arlington and I started working for Massage Envy and my clinic eventually became one of the top 100 clinics in the nation out of over 1,200,” he said. “I grew a passion and I want the people of Winchester and Frederick County to have an outlet for total body care without the cost of a high end spa. Massage Envy’s pricing, and strict levels of professionalism, make it the perfect fit for Winchester’s residents.”

He said that part of his mission is also to bring information and awareness in the realm of total body care and wellness.

“Going forward we want to educate the community of the health benefits of massage therapy and skin care and maintain the Massage Envy promise: We help you take care of you,” Ganoe said.
