Sinclair Health Clinic
Dr. Brandon T. Jennings has been appointed as the new executive director of the Sinclair Health Clinic (SHC), formerly known as the Free Medical Clinic of the Northern Shenandoah Valley. The clinic is located at 301 N. Cameron St., Winchester.
Jennings will assume the position Oct. 30, succeeding former Executive Director Stefan Lawson, who resigned in July to accept a health care position in Uganda. Past Board Chair Kathy Tagnesi served as interim executive director.
Dr. Jennings completed his undergraduate work at Virginia Commonwealth University and earned a doctorate degree at the Virginia Commonwealth University Medical College of Virginia campus. He is currently an associate professor of pharmacy practice at Shenandoah University Bernard J. Dunn School of Pharmacy, and, through the university, serves as a clinical pharmacist at SHC.
From 2007-2015, Jennings was an associate professor of pharmacotherapy at the University of Utah College of Pharmacy and clinical coordinator-clinical pharmacist for University of Utah Health Care. He previously served as a volunteer clinical pharmacist for three clinic programs in Salt Lake City as well as for the Free Medical Clinic in Winchester.
In September, the clinic announced that the board of directors had voted to change the organization’s name to the Dr. Terry Sinclair Health Clinic, doing business as Sinclair Health Clinic. The change was made to honor one of the clinic’s founders and its long time medical director, Dr. Terry Sinclair. In recent years, the clinic has added drug testing services, intensive community-based case management services and an outreach program to identify potential patients before they become chronically ill. The clinic has also expanded its pharmacy services for its patients and has opened the pharmacy to the public.
Dr. Jennings resides in Winchester with his wife and two children.
