Authorities look for rape suspects

MIDDLETOWN — Authorities are asking for help in finding suspects wanted for abducting and raping a Frederick County woman, then abandoning her by the side of a highway last week.

The victim, a 25-year-old woman from Gore, had stopped at the Liberty service station on Reliance Road on Wednesday, according to a news release issued Monday by the Middletown Police Department. The release states two male subjects pulled up beside her in a green pickup — make and model unknown — then forced the woman into the vehicle and drove to a residence. The suspects tied up the victim in the unknown location where they repeatedly raped and sodomized her, according to the release.

The suspects then took the victim from the residence and dropped her on the side of the road along U.S. 11 north of Lord Fairfax Community College, the release states.

Police are asking anyone who may have seen a green pickup or older model, white Pontiac Bonneville in the area of the Liberty station on Wednesday between 5 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. to contact detective Michael Tennett at 868-0535.
