Deputies probe teen’s shooting

EDINBURG– A shooting in Edinburg on Sunday morning left a 13-year-old boy injured and transported to U.Va. Medical Center in Charlottesville for treatment.

At about 1 a.m., a 14-year-old male shot the 13-year-old in the lower leg with a shotgun, Lt. Wesley Dellinger of the Shenandoah County Sheriff’s Office said. The two are members of the same family.

Deputies from the Shenandoah County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 2900 block of Stony Creek Road, Dellinger said.

The victim was transported first to Shenandoah Memorial Hospital before being flown to U.Va., Dellinger said.

The incident is still under investigation.
