Police: Offender entered chatroom
WINCHESTER — A Manassas man convicted of Internet sex crimes in Frederick County in 2009 violated probation by entering an online chatroom, authorities said Thursday.
Thomas Ciskanik recently served nearly two years in the regional jail for using a computer to commit crimes involving children and attempted indecent liberties with a child. Judge John Prosser sentenced him to five years with four years and 10 days suspended on each charge.
Authorities recently found a person using a screen name similar to one Ciskanik had used when arrested in 2007, James Galbreath, an investigator with the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office, said Thursday.
Investigators and the Manassas probation office went to his business in Woodbridge, interviewed Ciskanik and examined his computer, Galbreath said. They charged Ciskanik on July 1 with violating probation.
